Delete your account, on your terms.
No hoops, no retention traps. Here's exactly how to remove your Sigyl account and everything the server holds about you.

Delete from inside the app (recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the Sigyl app:
- Open Sigyl on your device.
- Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Permanently Delete Account.
That's it. The request is sent to our servers immediately and your account is closed.
If you can't open the app
Lost your device, or removed the app before deleting? Email us at team@sigyl.app with the subject "Account deletion request" and the public key or alias associated with your account. We'll verify and process the deletion for you.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following is removed from our servers:
- Your public key and alias
- Your liveness (face) hash
- Your profile — display name, bio, avatar, and cover image
- Your posts, comments, polls, and uploaded photos and videos
- Your connections, vouches, and notifications
- Your encrypted messages and key material
Encrypted messages and key material are deleted immediately. All remaining server-side data associated with your account is permanently deleted within 30 days. We do not retain a usable copy of your data beyond this window.
What stays with you
Your private key never leaves your device and is not held by us — so it isn't ours to delete. If you want to remove it, uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes the key from your phone. Once your private key is gone and your server records are deleted, the account cannot be recovered.
